ASIC Conference in Kuala Lumpur

Dr Zina Kyriakou and Soula Kyriakou were recently involved in the ASIC conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia of September 2017. ASIC, Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities, « is an internationally renowned quality standard for schools, colleges, universities and online learning providers, formed to bring independent information to both the student population and the wider Higher Education world, through its international accreditation service with well-defined and objective benchmarking. » They represented The International Executive School/Paris and gave a presentation titled ‘The way forward for Higher Education’ in which they detailed accreditation’s purpose, objectives, problems, challenges and it’s UNESCO recommendations. They championed the need to standardise and streamline accreditation criteria, the importance of personal growth, the need to practically prepare students for the workplace by focusing on building real-world skills appropriate to their education level and the clear need to develop PhD graduates in their roles as educators and researchers.
