Elie Daher and Frank Naboulsi, PhD Candidates at the International Executive School, presented their research at the ICSB (International Council for Small Business) World Congress, held in Cairo, Egypt.
Elie Daher presented two studies examining workplace dynamics within Egypt’s hospitality industry. His research explores relationships between co-worker support, work-life balance, job satisfaction, and employee well-being, revealing patterns that challenge conventional assumptions about workplace interventions. The findings contribute important cross-cultural perspectives to organizational behavior and hospitality management scholarship, particularly regarding the cultural specificity of workplace support systems.
Frank Naboulsi presented research addressing workplace wellbeing and economic inclusion in Egypt. His first study examines occupational stress and job satisfaction among women hotel workers, investigating how stress levels vary across different organizational roles. His second study employs qualitative methodology to explore entrepreneurial experiences of persons with disabilities in Egypt, examining how individuals navigate barriers and construct pathways to business ownership and economic participation.
Both scholars are conducting research in areas where rigorous empirical evidence has been limited, particularly within Middle Eastern and North African contexts. Their work addresses complex questions about workplace equity, cultural dimensions of organizational behavior, and inclusive economic development.
The ICSB World Congress is one of the leading international conferences for entrepreneurship and small business research, bringing together scholars and practitioners from around the globe. These presentations reflect the quality and relevance of doctoral research being conducted at IES.
The International Executive School congratulates Elie Daher and Frank Naboulsi on these important scholarly contributions and their representation of IES at this prestigious international congress.
